Waste Basket Retrofit

Trash separation for small spaces
Already there exist well established solutions for separating trash in the kitchen: side-by-side cans for recycling and landfill, countertop bins for compost. But trash separation on a smaller scale is less commonplace. Bathrooms generate the same mix of recycling, compost, and trash, but we usually have just one small basket to manage it. People either have to sift through a jumbled pile on trash day or, more likely, it all just goes in the dump. Instead of forcing well-intentioned people to buy a new, fancy waste basket, thus creating more waste, what if a simple bag update could convert any sized waste basket into a multi-chambered trash bin? What if we made it easy and affordable to do the right thing, at any scale?
