Spaces for humans

Architectural thinking
Following are projects from a class I recently completed, Designing Spaces for Humans. Architect and Strategist Sharon Leung conceptualized this class to provide accessible and democratic architecture education to non-architects. We learned the basics of architectural thinking, history and tooling.

The first space I designed is a meditative work room, with small openings to the outdoors so one can be inspired by nature, but still remain focused on work.
Artist Residency + Cabin
This project was completed with one of my classmates serving as the client. He requested a cabin in Berkeley where artists could spend time working and sharing their art with the public. This cabin is equipped with movable furniture that can double as both bedding, seating, and storage. The space functions as a live/work studio, and converts into a gallery space at the end of the residency. Wall beams hide nested accordion screens that can be expanded to create privacy and are customized by the artist to fit their vision.
