Waterproof was born in response to the severe droughts that California will face as a result of climate change. Designed for water utility consumers to better understand their water usage over time and in comparison with their neighbors. It also provides a view of where their water is sourced from and how it is distributed in their region. Lastly it ranks cities in California based on their water use. This kind of social comparison has been proved effective in spurring behavior change, and is intended to motivate consumers to modulate their water consumption.
